The Patient Advocacy Service is changing and will become a forum for Mental Health issues. We welcome observations and ideas for improving present mental health services in both the NHS and voluntary sector.

My Wife Nicola and I recently lost our youngest son, Henry to OCD and depression. He committed suicide. He was aged just 20 years.

Henry’s story is not unique, unfortunately. Since Henry died in April 2016, a number of people have approached us and told us of their problems with accessing the services they need to help them.

These pages will now become a dedicated forum to highlight the lack of services for Mental Health, to consider new ideas. to campaign for improvements and to discuss and share our experiences

In Henry’s case the transition from Child and Adolescent mental Health services (CAMHS) to Adult Services was not a happy one.

Please feel free to post here and to talk about issues that concern you.

We have also launched the “Henry Chowdhury” fund which will be used to help improve local services in the Nottingham area.

We welcome ideas and initiatives for how we use the fund including collaborating with local charities. Launching new initiatives, bolstering existing services and confronting the Stigma in discussing mental health.
